Rosewood, or dalbergia odorifera, is a precious wood that was already used to make the high quality furniture of the Ming dynasties and the first Qing. Its touch is extremely soft because its grain has an unrivalled finesse. It gives off a slight pear smell, which gave it its name of smell.The growth of this tree is very slow, which explains its rarity.
