Rose wood, or dalbergia odorifera, is a precious wood that was already used to make the high quality furniture of the Ming dynasties and early Qing. Its touch is extremely soft because its grain has an unmatched finesse. It has a slight pear smell, which gave it its name of odorifera.The growth of this tree is very slow, which explains its rarity.
