Here's the presentation venerable Shakyamuni Buddha, an Indian prince descended from the Shakyas. This remarkable dynasty extended its territory from the foothills of the Himalayas to Magadha, passing through Uttar Pradesh and the Nepalese Terai.

Noble and passionate, the prince Siddharta Gautama abandoned his royal crown, preferring to devote himself body and soul in his struggle against human suffering. He was overwhelmed by the misfortunes of his people: birth, sickness, old age and death. After intense mediation, he gained enlightenment, the ultimate goal of his spiritual quest. Feeling like a new man, he set out on the roads of India to spread the good word. Today, his followers call him Buddha. A legend was born. His teaching was first transmitted orally, then the scholars enrolled him in the form of Sutras. Today, Shakyamuni Buddha is considered the very embodiment of purity and perfection by Buddhist sages around the world and all schools.

This Buddha statue is made up entirely of pure copper. It has been hand-carved with a special care, unique to the passionate craftsmen of the N(e)Pal. It is also directly imported from Asia.
