The wood of rose, or dalbergia odorifera, is a precious wood that was already used to make the high-quality furniture of the Ming dynasties and the first Qing. Its touch is extremely soft because its grain has an unequalled finesse. It has a slight smell of pear, which gave it its name of odorifera.The growth of this tree is very slow, which explains its rarity.
