The bodhi tree (also called the Tree of Awakening) is a sacred tree in Buddhism, since it would be the tree under which the Buddha Siddhartha Gautama would have attained enlightenment. This tree is actually the fig tree of pagodas (sacred fig), or pipal, and its seeds are used to make malas. Pipal seeds patinate and become shiny over time.
Made entirely by hand, this mala necklace in bodhi seeds is made from bodhi seeds native to China.
