Lots of four Chinese snuffboxes in fine glass with an agate stopper. These snuffboxes are entirely hand painted and from Chinese crafts. Also called "snuff bottles", Chinese snuff bottles come in the form of small vials that protect the tobacco from moisture. This snuffbox closes with an airtight stopper which is made of agate stone.Comes in astorage boxtraditional Chinese style.
During ancient China (Qing Dynasty), smoking tobacco was illegal. However, snuff was allowed, since tobacco was considered to be a remedy for colds, nausea, migraines or stomach aches. It is for this reason that snuffboxes are part of the Chinese cultural heritage today.
