This sencha chumushi green tea is native to the city of Uji-shi, Kyoto Prefecture, which is considered one of the best regions in Japan for the production of sencha and Japanese tea in general. Sencha is the most popular and consumed tea in Japan. The chumushi sencha is subjected to a longer steam bath than most sencha in order to stop the oxidation process, making it less bitter and softer.
